Hey! My name is Lea and I’m 16 years old. 

Currently I’m living near Hamburg, Germany with my younger sister and my parents. 

In summer 2018 I will start a High School year in the United States of America. This blog is going to be all about that topic. I’ll share my experiences, impressions and maybe also some photos of my life.

Already as a child I’ve been dreaming of exploring different countries and cultures. Especially because I have watched a lot of American movies, the “American way of life” has always fascinated me. I’ve been wondering what it would be like to “pause” my current life and to attend a high school and meet completely new people instead.

So I’ve started informing myself about the possibilities to make my dream come true. The first step was to decide how long I wanted to leave my home for starting a new life in the United States. Next was to find an organization which would help me planning my exchange year and finding a host family.

With the help of „Die AustauschExperten“ I filled out a lot of forms to describe myself and my expectations of my stay abroad.

And now here I am – looking forward to my year as an exchange student in the US.
